Also, please do not forget to allow saved searches working with blocking/blocked by values, so that we can easily filter these "cursed" tasks.

Just adding my voice to the others expressed here ...this would be a great and powerful feature add.

so we have a new set of owners. I don't know if I've said this in the past, but the hope of using dependencies is the only reason I have stayed a loyal ToodleDoo subscriber.

I know it isn't a simple fix, but this really can be done. I almost did it in a firefox app. This could be done with a few fields that aren't being used for something else, and a way to identify the task so we can store its value in one of the fields.

This linking of tasks is something Asana does (IMO) really well and we should imitate their approach. Tasks can be link to another task and listed as either "blocking" or "blocked by" to show the direction of the relationship. The blocked task also displays with an icon to indicate it is blocked. They then have automation rules which let you move or updated tasks when a task that blocks it is completed

I have been waiting for this for a long time. When is this planned for completion? Is there a way to see when features are being added to releases?

+1 this is a really critical feature. I'm exploring asana or other tools to move away from toodledo b/c I really need this feature
