Ehm, it's not working anymore. Not even on beta.toodledo.com. Now is 9:08 and I can see the task for today 15:08. Please, can you check it?

pospisil22: This is only on the "new" tasks page -- at https://tasks.toodledo.com

PamelaH: Oh, I see. I was trying beta.toodledo.com and toodledo.com/tasks/index.php from my bookmarks. ImI'm switching to tasks.toodledo.com.
Thanks!

PamelaH: It's great that this is complete, I'm not seeing how to do this. Can I trouble you to post an explanation? Has it not rolled out yet?

PamelaH: Hmm, this is better than what was there before but I'm faced with 25-50 tasks when I open Toodledo in the morning, what I'd like to do is bump a bunch for an hour by clicking a 'snooze' button on the tasks. Setting a start time later in the day, one by one is somewhat clunky for a large list of tasks that needs to be addressed later in the day. I appreciate the new feature, but it's not as functional for me (specifically) as I was hoping for. I'm not sure how other users find this, it's quite possible that I'm the only one looking for something like this.

A snooze button would be a bit help. I get overwhelmed by my full list of tasks all the time.
P
PamelaH
lennythelabrat: Would you expect snooze to change your start time so it gets hidden by this new functionality?
l

PamelaH: Yes, that's my hope. My day starts with a
lot
of tasks to do, and I'm trying to find an easy way to sort what to do next, by hiding things that aren't appropriate yet. For instance, if I need to take care of a widget, but I'm waiting for someone to e-mail me about what colour I paint the widget, I want to delay the task for an hour in the hopes that the e-mail will come in.P

We are currently testing this feature on our beta site. Sign up here if you would like to test it out: https://www.toodledo.com/info/beta.php

Quick note...for now, this is ONLY for the new version of the tasks page @ https://tasksbeta.toodledo.com (will be at https://tasks.toodledo.com when it's released)

PamelaH: I'm confused how this is supposed to work. I put a test task in for 2 minutes after the current time, today, but I still see the task in my folder. Future tasks are hidden, under "Filter Options" dropdown. As an aside, on my iPhone SE (original), using a web browser, I can't get the time entered, on my task. Nothing I do saves it, when I type in a time.
P
PamelaH
M: If you just add a task or just edit a task, you may need to refresh the page or toggle on/off the future tasks option. This is because the task view currently doesn't reload automatically.
Also, to confirm you are using start date/start time, and navigating to https://tasksbeta.toodledo.com correct?
M
M
PamelaH: Okay, refreshing (on notebook with web browser) did hide the task, and refreshing again after the start time has passed makes it visible.
(And, yes, I'm on the beta tasks site.)
FYI - I'm going to be looking for this mostly in the iOS app, as well as on the web. On the app - I won't want to have to refresh, to see things with a recently-passed start time. (Study how 2Do does this - it works flawlessly.)
Thanks for the clarification.

PamelaH: I also tried it and it doesn't work.
It is now 8:55, so I set the task (edit: start date/time) for today at 9:00. After that I hid future tasks, did refresh page (F5) and I can still see the task.
edit: Im on beta.toodledo.com
P
PamelaH
pospisil22: Can you try at https://tasksbeta.toodledo.com? This is the "new" version of the tasks list that we are testing -- it is currently not supported on the old tasks page. Thanks!

PamelaH: Wow, it's totally working as expected. Thank you very much, you are the best!
Now I just need to get the same functionality into the mobile app (iOS) and I'll be the happiest in the world. :o)

This is an old request: https://www.toodledo.com/forums/2/24525/0/using-start-time-to-hide-future-tasks.html
If a start time is set for a task, that task shouldn't be shown until that time (of its start date), unless "It the future" is active.

This would be useful, for tasks that I take care of at the end of the business day, on a pretty regular basis.

In Settings/Tasks/Fields, if both Stard Date and Start Time are enabled, this does not work?
a
adriank
J.O.D. 2024: It doesn't seem to work for me on the web app. I see all tasks with a start date of today, regardless if the start time is in the future.
J
J.O.D. 2024
adriank: And using the filter (eye icon) to hide future tasks?
a
adriank
J.O.D. 2024: Yes - the hide future tasks appears to ignore start time. I've attached a screenshot showing four test tasks, two of which I would expect to be hidden, but only the one with a date (not time) in the future is hidden.

adriank
Sorry - I intended to have this screen shot instead of the first one. Either way, both show the same issue.

This appears to work for the web app, but not for the phone (Android) app :( https://www.toodledo.com/forums/2/24895/0/start-time-in-saved-searches-on-android.html
