Please install version 6.6.94 to fix this

Crashing on the Android apps (both of them) has gotten so bad lately that they're virtually unusable. I've resorted to using the mobile web version full time. I know you're actively working on this and I'm truly grateful to see the level of engagement, but I need a stable app. At this point, I don't care which one.

kevinarth: Are you still seeing this issue with the legacy app build 6.6.93?

Mobile app should run on Pixel 6 Pro

Using the mobile app on a Pixel 6 Pro upgraded to the current version (~March 16, 2022) results in a crash when tapping on any entry. (And, I can't find any link to support on your web app!)

Support Android Again!!!!!

Overall I've been really happy with the app and have been a user to several years. But the support of the app and Android in particular and lacking, and as of the last month or two on My Pixel 6 the app has become complete unusable.
Given Android has the majority of the market one would think that would be where your focus would be, not Apple.

We highly recommend moving to the new, Next Generation Android app as soon as you feel comfortable (or at least run it side by side with the old app!). We will not be adding new features to the legacy (multiple year old) app, and it will have very limited support moving forward.
However, we understand not all features are yet available in the new/next generation apps and some users would like to have access to the current Android App for the time being.
We have published a fix for the crashes that some users have encountered since updating their phones with recent Android operating system updates.
If you are experiencing new crashes with the Android app and would like to install this fix (no other changes have been made), please follow the instructions below:
Important: To get the beta version of an app, the app must already be installed on your device.
To be safe, make sure your Toodledo app is signed in and you’ve synced your data (ie - if you sign into the desktop website you can see the most recent changes you made in the Android app).
Open the Play Store
In the top right, tap the profile icon.
Tap Manage apps & devices > Installed.
Tap the Toodledo app to open its detail page (if you also have the Next Generation app installed, make sure you click on the icon for the Legacy app (which has a color gradient), NOT the new one (which has a solid background) – these icons are deliberately different so you can reliably tell them apart)

Fix Android app crash

Suddenly out of nowhere today android app is crashing any time I tap to open or add a todo. I've uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times. I even tried uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling. I also tried joining the beta program. The app is currently unusable on my Pixel 6.

App crash for any action taken

Android app suddenly crashing frequently. App version is 6.6.91. Galaxy S20 android 12. Created new task. Every setting change causes app to crash, though the setting change is committed. Check a task to make complete, crash. Very consistent.

The crashing is far worse today. So bad that since last night it is no longer playing notifications at alarm time.Play store shows Toodledo (Beta) last updated Aparil 19, 2022 with hotfix for crash on create task. Looks like this hotfix actually made the problem much worse. Its crashing without doing ANYTHING in the app!
I'd happily install the new app if you could at least guarantee me
- It will NEVER lose data (this is the biggest concern holding me back)
- It will sync reliably over WiFi
- It will always notify (alarm/vibrate) at task alarm time

steve.rothkin: Thanks for the info -- we are looking into this now. Since the app is so old, there are a lot of SDKs that currently aren't supported on Android anymore on various devices.
Regarding the new app: We have used it internally daily since December and haven't lost any data, and haven't had any reports of data loss. Sync reliability over wifi has also been stable.
Alarms are unfortunately not quite finished yet, we are working on that now and expect to see it in the beta within the next couple of weeks.

steve.rothkin
PamelaH: Alarms are critical must have!
P
PamelaH
steve.rothkin: We absolutely agree! That is our current work item.
Unfortunately, our attention has been split due to the current app crashes.
Rest assured we are doing everything we can to get a functional app that works for everyone!

steve.rothkin: We just pushed a new build to the legacy app (168 (6.6.92)). Does this work any better for you?
s
simon.rushton
PamelaH: alas I don't see notes available on the new app yet. Do we have that on the timeline?
Thanks for all your work

PamelaH: No. It crashes a little lest, but notifications for alarms aren't working.

Same. Pixel 4A with Android 12. Since 1 week
Clearing cache or clear memory of Toodledo App in Android settings did not help.
